Description: Jean Ann Hankins reveals the beginnings of Tulsa's Ronald McDonald House on 61st Street. It was built in 1991 and has expanded to 24 bedrooms. Evening meals are prepared for families and lunches are sent to the hospitals. Children may be in any of 3 Tulsa hospitals and families may stay 8 nights for $10 a night. Siblings are provided play areas. $932 million world wide is donated to Ronald McDonald Houses. Local funddraisers include Cedar Ridge Pro AM Golf Tournament, Metro Appliances House Party, and McDazzle, an auction gala at the Cox Business Center. Plus a penny is donated for every pound of potatoes purchased and "Round up to Mc D" on your credit card provides funds. Thirteen religious leaders blessed the Ronald McDonald House in the Summer of 2019.
