Tulsa Vintage Garden

Discovering the Vintage Garden is a beautiful walk through Tulsa's storied past.

We invite you to enjoy the Vintage Garden given to Tulsa as a generous gift from Charles and Peggy Stephenson. You'll enjoy a stroll on the paved walkways lined with flowers as you discover historical Tulsa artifacts. Our Guardian volunteers can give you a guided tour or you can guide yourself with our map.

The garden includes the Five Moons, which are life size, bronze depictions of Oklahoma's internationally recognized Native American ballerinas. The Five Moons are also a gift of the Stephenson's and Howard and Billie Barnett. Beverly and Sid Patterson have made a contribution towards garden maintenance.

The garden and the installation of theFive Moons were completed in 2007. The project was designed by Howell and Vancuren and installed by Rforma, the two companies responsible for the design and installation of the Linneaus Gardens in Woodward Park.

The design of the Vintage Garden provides opportunities for THS friends to sponsor a limited number of additional trees or benches as a memorial or tribute to a friend or family member. Trees and benches will be designated with a small plaque with the honoree's name and donor's name. Trees will be 4" in diameter and 12 to 15 feet tall. The donation, which includes purchase and planting, is $2000. Benches are five feet, similar to those in the Arboretum, and will be installed on a concrete pad. Donation is $1200. Contact the THS office to discuss your interest (712.9484).

The THS board would like to express a special thank you to Richard Bewley of AEP/PSO for his assistance in removing several dying or dangerous trees from the West Lawn. The project to remove these trees is an example of how PSO and property owners can work together to ensure the safety of the community.
