A Sailor’s Life: The Story of the U.S.S. Tulsa
Hey Sailor! New in town? Our detailed ship-in-a-bottle should make you feel right at home. The ship named after the city of Tulsa was commissioned by the Navy from 1923 – 1946 and served in the Caribbean in the 1920s. It was later reassigned to the Asiatic Fleet where it remained through the end of WWII. Centerpieces of this exhibit are a scale model of the ship, the ship’s bell, naval uniforms, and the only Medal of Honor ever awarded to a Tulsan. Don’t miss the fascinating details of life on board ship from the diary of a U.S.S. Tulsa Seaman.
