Architectural Rendering Donated

The THS has received a beautiful new addition to its collections. An architectural rendering of the Fairgrounds Agricultural Building, designed by Frederick Alexander Duggan, was donated by Alice Georgine Wilborn Norman Roth and her sister Lina Sue Wilborn, nieces of Mr. Duggan.

Duggan practiced in Tulsa from 1916 to 1955. He designed the Immanuel Baptist Church at the southwest corner of 3rd and Xanthus (1928) as well as several Tulsa residences. His early work was in St. Louis, where he designed a number of theaters. Although extensive plans were drawn, the Art Deco Agricultural Building was never built. The donated rendering, an exquisite 38" x 18" watercolor, provides a glimpse of the ambitious plans the community once held for the Fairgrounds.
