If you haven’t been to the museum to see our newest exhibit featuring the Tulsa Race Riot and Oklahoma City Bombing, you’re missing a one-of-a-kind interpretation that you won’t find anywhere else.  Oklahoma artist Eric Humphries interprets historical tragedies from around the world into his unique, cartoon-like style.  Extensive historical research goes into preparing for each of his projects and these two were no different. The series of paintings on the Tulsa Race Riot is entitled Is the Whole World on Fire? and is accompanied by historical photographs and quotations from the event to put his painted timeline of the event in perspective. The canvasses showing Humphries interpretation of the Oklahoma City Bombing, :03 Minutes in American History, are bright, colorful, and full of symbolism that you won’t soon forget.
